The other day, I was thinking that I thought it was really cool that our 4 yr old son realizes that furniture is actually “made.” He was telling his little sister that “Dadda” had made a table for her. It’s weird sometimes, but I feel like a lot of customers seem to look over the idea or fact that someone, a person, actually had a hand in making our furniture, and any furniture for that matter. It seems that a lot of people have come to know and think of products as just shipped from here to there, as if it popped out of a machine somewhere along the way and then went straight to a shipping container.
Our furniture is made to order, so it takes a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on the item, to produce and get to the customer, as opposed to something that is sitting in a warehouse waiting to be shipped. Not too long ago, we had a customer call and she was upset about how long it was taking for her to receive her bed. While I was talking to her, I said something about, “making her bed”, etc. She had a totally different view of the situation. She was surprised and and even mentioned that it was really cool that I was making it. I believe that she thought the bed was sitting in a warehouse and was wondering what was taking us so long to get it out and send it to her.
Our furniture is MADE! Made right here in the USA and each piece is designed, touched, sanded, painted and packaged by a person. We think it’s pretty cool to have furniture made just for you, and we think that if people actually think about it, they will too.
